During my two years in Montréal, I drew inspiration from the hidden environments tucked away behind Plateau row houses in back-street ruelles. I wandered my quartier often and would pause to capture quaint, quiet scenes of the private alleyways only steps away from the bustle of big pedestrian streets like Mont-Royal and St. Laurent.

I developed my watercolour style during these years, one of haphazard, yet trusting pen strokes complimented by the addition of colour. These quiet scenes were an escape from the heavy life I led, and were often created as a midnight respite from a full day on my laptop.
